Live Show ‘Traffic Light’ signs
A while ago, when we were discussing innovating live shows, fellow Australian hobbyist Amy (@frenziied) brought up the idea of having signs at each participant’s table. These signs were envisioned as social “traffic lights”, per se, allowing each shower to choose the level of interaction they’d like from their fellow showers by simply flipping the sign over.
As an autistic human who is both intensely competitive and focused and also very awkward on live show days, I latched onto the idea, and when I ran my first ever live show in October 2022, Greater Sydney Gallop, Tim and I decided to try Amy’s awesome idea (with their blessing, of course) and Tim created the traffic light PDF that is linked below.
They were printed on cardstock that was then folded into thirds to make a little triangle so it could stand up. Each shower got one on their table, and could flip it back and forth as they needed throughout the weekend. I was so excited to see them being used, and I thought I’d link the PDF here so others can download it and maybe use it for their shows, too!
You can download, alter, and use the above PDF to your heart’s content, in any way you’d like (and there’s no need to credit me or Tim; if you’re going to credit anyone, credit Amy, who thought up the idea in the first place!)—please just don’t try and sell it or monetise it.
